Inside Out 2: Journey Through Anxieties

July 24, 2024

Life has felt so restless lately. Sleepness nights and groggy days make it hard to focus on work. Watching the newly released “Inside Out 2” yesterday made me realize the “anxiety guy” inside my head is the culprit.

I remember when dreaming big was easy, without fears or worries holding me back. Now, doubts creep in — am I good enough? Is this the right path? Can I achieve my dreams?

These worries and anxieties are real. They constantly tell me I’m not doing well enough, that others can succeed but I can’t. I keep searching for something I’m good at, but never find it.

I’ve been standing still, watching friends chase their dreams with excitement while I wonder when, or if, I’ll ever pursue mine. Riley Anderson from the movie faces a similar struggle, feeling lost and unsure, affecting her hockey game and her sense of self.

Inside Out 2 hit close to home, showing that anxiety is raging and messing with my life. I’ve lost most of the joy I could have felt, and sadness feels lame.

Riley is actually a gentle reminder for me, that these inner voices, these relentless doubts, are okay — to some extend. It portrays anxiety not necessarily as a villain but as a part of us that needs understanding and compassion. Through Riley’s journey, I see the importance of acknowledging our emotions, even the uncomfortable ones, and finding a way to live harmoniously with them. But how? How do I cope with these anxiety?

Though, I think Inside Out 2 is a beautiful, a poignant reminder that despite the chaos inside, we can still find our way, still chase our dreams, and still feel joy. It’s an exploration of the mind and a comforting message that we’re not alone in our struggles.

Riley and her emotions’ crew leaves me with a hopeful message, that I will be able to navigate through my inner turmoil, embrace my anxieties, and find strength to pursue my dreams. And finally joy can always be discovered.

So, just yesterday, me and sister drove to one trending good place in town around 11 kilometers from home, 25 minutes to count. This place always come into sight in every weekend's instagram timeline, and when curiosity met a good time, we decided to step on the gas.

Things that make the place seems new and novel in town is the red brick building along with other classic-likes. Paying IDR 18.000 would afford you to enjoy the small river and walking path.

You would be offered with many paths to choose to walk on, there are some cutie bridges, a small walking path at the back, and riverside alley at the center which was more crowded.

These got me a very good vibe, cafe and coffee shop are really in a beautiful spot for you to get relaxed to the maximum.

Besides, there are many cutie things to see and touch,

Gooses are enjoying their afternoon bath, coming out of nowhere, but they are cute.

Fluffy sheeps were hungry and rushed out when we brought afternoon snacks.

And a kind of aves inside the cage.

Also hard-to-get sweet things which costed me 10 minutes in line...

The Village is located in Jl. Raya Baturaden, Dusun I, Rempoah, Baturraden, Kabupaten Banyumas, Jawa Tengah 53151.

Bangkok: 5 days plus 1

My Bangkok Story!
Ever since getting my passport, I have been wanting to at least once go abroad and enjoy the world from another view. So here it is, how I tried to cope with myself getting to know Bangkok in around five days.

How was it? Kilometers away from home? Far apart from my comfort zone...
It was superb! terrific! yet I saw my self a little pathetic.
Well, Bangkok in a nutshell seems and feels like Jakarta. All the opulence yet the ghettos. Nothing seems too different, just another busy city with reckless taxi drivers.

Firstly, why Bangkok?
Yeah, I didn't have any other choice aside from Bangkok. I went to Bangkok not for holiday but some academic-oriented things. We visited Siriraj Hospital, the Faculty of Medicine of Mahidol University, which is one of the oldest hospital in Thailand and it's said to be one of the best tropical medicine and infection center in Asia.

We stayed at Royal River Hotel in Bangkok. Right at the side of Chao Phraya River. If you have ever in Bangkok, you'd be really familiar with this river, as everywhere we tried to go, this river seems following us, well-no, it's just defining how long is the river. At the first night, I wasn't feeling really well and couldn't really enjoy my resting time after the whole day travel by train and plane. I suspected my self with bacterial conjunctivitis. My eyes are quite sensitive to dust and wind. And that very moment, I visited the hospital, crazily, it was 12.00 AM, I was just arrived in Bangkok, and the first thing I did was visiting doctor at Siriraj Hospital.

They were so concerned even if for me bacterial conjunctivitis is a very common and trivial disease. So that was my first experience visiting hospital in Bangkok, in term of care, I would give them standing ovation, so great! The doctor was so detailed and giving a very understandable explanation very greatly.

The second day was filled with Hospital tour, from the Anatomy Museum with a very topographic of human body's slice, Anatomy Laboratory, and Simulation Laboratory with a very high-end technology. What I wanted to say was, I wished I would comeback there for further study, experiencing their advanced technology. They used a soft cadaver for resident's  surgery simulation, they have a magical mannequin that could respond many sensors. The best I have ever seen! Sadly, I didn't get any photos from here, I was too amazed with everything they have.

The day was closed with a dinner at a Chao Phraya Cruise Ship. We boarded a ship which crossed around the river under a very beautiful night. I thought Bangkok is most beautiful at night, with a lamp gushed through the tall buildings.

Hey crowds!

The next day was a full day of sightseeing!
Our destination was The Grand Palace (Wat Phra Kaew) and Taj Maharaj.

The Royal Grand Palace was resided by previous King Rama and now is still resided by one of the princess. The story they have wasn't much of difference from the Ramayana story in Indonesia.

Chakri Maha Prasat in the Grand Palace
Chakri Maha Prasat, I was told that this building has many doors. Women and men have different entrance, and only the King can go through the woman's door. In the past, the Women of Royal Family were only allowed to go out when the time they got married.

There was this Temple of The Emerald Buddha, which is said to be Thailand's most sacred site. It was a very famous place for Buddhist to pray. We had to take off our shoes, be silent, and forbid to take any photos from inside.

Tha Maharaj is one of hang-out place with the view of Chao Phraya River, you can find many cafes to chill out there with a very modern vibes. It was a very cozy place to enjoy one cup of Thai Tea and watch the boat crossing the Chao Phraya River.

Thai Village!
Tasting all delicious foods and desserts.

My Favorite Pad Thai is in Frame!

At the supposed to be last day, we went to MBK and Siam Paragon!
The Shopping Center.

The Plus One
We supposed to leave Bangkok on March 20, but after twice delayed announcement, the flight was finally cancelled and rescheduled to March 21. Yeayy! We got one additional day to enjoy Bangkok.
We stayed at Amari Don Muang Airport Hotel for a night and enjoyed the last night in Bangkok, trying to be fine even if we supposed to be home that day.

Short Escape

These was an unplanned short trip.
We booked the tickets and lodging online the night before going.
I had lecture an hour before going.
But we brought a trophy back home, yeay!

The nine floors building in Semarang, if you could see it closely, it's a beach out there. Great view isn't it?

I walked around before boarding the train to go back home. Such a soothing walks around.

So, there’s a big tree with red benches beneath. The perspective from that side made this pagoda looked so dashing from the natural rays God spreading us. A clear blue sky of course dignified the flaming red buildings all over places.

I was sitting with my sister, having a random cackle about times we spent on us each when we were apart.

I insisted to be photographed right in the center. It doesn’t look bad for the quality of phone’s camera, right? Giving me the broad view, somehow make me look a pinch-bit slimmer, please say yes!

This place called Sam Poo Kong, said to be one of historical place where Islam started in Indonesia? Well, since it would be Ramadan soon, it somewhat brought me chills, how beautiful religion could be, so flexible to find a space in everyone’s culture yet still has its dignity to stick onto what God’s saying. Masha Allah…

Mary Anne

04.26

Been almost six months, another six months being a lucky worm in college. While everybody is enjoying their off days already, I still have to wait for another week and beat up the last examination series. But, life is fair I think, I got to have some days off to enjoy a leisure lunch with sister at “Mary Anne”

I tried to search for the exact altitude but seems like google maps hasn’t claimed it yet. But to find it, you just need to head up a bit from Graha Widyatama Unsoed’s Auditorium Purwokerto. And…  ignore the address at the left box, it was just a thing I took from the google maps when typing “Mary Anne”.

Here’s some pictures I took just to invite your drools out, Ha-ha!

Lime Squash: great taste of lime inside the sweet carbonated water. Carbonated: it’s smarting when touches your tongue, it’s relieving when you burp. So addicting!

Carbonara: Kinda a bit disappointed with the carbonara. I don’t know if it wasn’t my taste or what, but for me it was too salty and the bread wasn’t crunchy as what I expected.

Full companion: tasty foods, refreshing drinks, fussy sister, wonderful books, and sweets. Life is about talking or changing mind with your trusted one, gaining knowledge and experiencing imaginations through the books you read, refueling your energy with carbohydrates and fats, and recharging your serotonin with sweets.

Good Time Ice Cream: chocolate is a cure and you don’t need an appointment. They are a good serotonin donor which would boost your joy by creating good memories inside your brain to increase motivation and mood.

If you love ice cream so much to the level you want to “ice-creamize” anything, they have like more than 50 tastes, all different.

We sat at the corner and it’s a cozy place to hang out with your friends or if you need a place to do your assignments since there’s a free WiFi access.

Dusun Bambu, Bandung

Bandung has always been another nice city to stay and long for. Because there won’t be any year without going there, at least once a year, well not really in Bandung, mommy’s mom is abiding in Cimahi, one of the most hectic sub-cities around Bandung.

If you happen to visit Bandung, get your mind and self together to stay away from malls and everything labeled shopping spot, save time to look on one of its peace-inspiring spot around Situ Lembang. You’ll need only an hour and thirteen minutes in traffic (well, if suddenly Bandung goes silent) from Trans Studio Bandung, approximately twenty-five kilometers drive.

Dusun Bambu.
Jl. Kolonel Masturi Km. 11
Situ Lembang, Bandung Barat, Jawa Barat

This would be an ideal place for those who want a release. Its leisurely scenery is soothing for eyes and soul.

Firstly, if you enter from the second and third parking lot you’ll need to ride a car they have provided freely to get onto the main spot. With the thrilling road, going on through hill and slope, this would get you that feel of nature with the signature cold of Lembang.

There are loads of interesting thing you can do in Dusun Bambu. If you adore photography, the up-down flower beds are really photogenic. Besides, the also offer us a cozy place to have family meals at the side of the small lake. If you only want to go snacking, they also have kind of food court called Pasar Khatulistiwa where we could get some light or heavy meals.

An interesting concept they have there is the money inside our purse would have no value. Why? Because no matter how much we have, we can’t use it before exchanging them into voucher. Quite a work to walk here and there to exchange our money every time we we want to buy something but it’s kind of cute to see everyone holding a big paper money
